Pregnant woman rescued in Bensonhurst after track tumble

A pregnant woman was rescued in Bensonhurst after tumbling onto the northbound D train tracks on Thursday, July 21, according to police.

The woman, who was 36 weeks pregnant, felt dizzy prior to her fall onto the 71st Street station tracks at around 9:00 a.m., police say.

NYPD officers from the 66th Precinct responded to a 911 call of a female who had fallen onto the tracks. By the time officers arrived, the woman had been pulled onto the platform by a group of good Samaritans.

The woman sustained a head injury and was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition, where she was treated and eventually released, according to police.
