Who says you can’t do business when business hours are over? On Tuesday, July 12, business professionals came together for a Business After Hours event that couldn’t be missed. Many gathered at South Fin Grill at the Vanderbilt to mix and mingle with other business professionals across Staten Island.
“We’re so thrilled to be here tonight,” said Vicki Schneps, publisher for Schneps Communications. “We are so proud and we love Staten Island.”
The event was hosted by the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Star Network, a division of Schneps Communications. There were many people in attendance, including host Linda Baran, president of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce.
“I think a lot of the day meetings we go to are a lot more business-oriented, where the After Hours is a little more relaxed and people have the opportunity to meet people on a social level and they get to know each other a little bit more,” said Baran. “I’m happy that Star Network is collaborating with this event.”
The evening at the South Fin Grill provided a relaxed atmosphere located on the beach for top business professionals to chat and make connections that would not normally have been made during regular business hours. Complimentary food and drinks were available throughout the evening.
“I think it’s an excellent setting,” said Phil Guarneri, CEO of Empire State Bank. “I’m a director of the Chamber, and we participate a lot with Star Network. I’ve been a King twice; my employees have been honored, so we’re very supportive of Star Network and the Chamber.”
“Star Network expanded into Staten Island about year and a half or two years ago,” commented Baran, “They really have a great reputation for putting on events honoring our local men and women in the Staten Island community as well as the other boroughs.”
Star Network is currently seeking nominations for its third annual Staten Island Power Women in Business Awards and Networking Event on September 15. Click here to nominate a power woman.
