It was a night to mingle and give back as Star Network’s recently inducted stars spent an evening together at the Fifth Avenue Hair Studio celebrating their achievements and three local charities.
All in the spirit of connecting like-minded, business owners, entrepreneurs and community activists to one another, Lori Pedone, vice president of events for Brooklyn and Staten Island, weighed in on why this group of people is so special.
“Between our past two events – the Power Women in Business, which recognizes successful Brooklyn women excelling in their fields and in community work, and the Stars Under Forty, which honors young professionals who also find time to give back to the community – we raised nearly $5,000,” said Pedone. “On top of raising money for three incredible local charities, these past honorees were invited to spend time with new business associates and friends.”
The three charities receiving checks at the June 20 event were Urban Neighborhood Services (UNS), Diva for a Day and CHIPS Soup Kitchen and Shelter.
Mathylde Frontus, founder of UNS, was there to accept a check along with Denise Scaravella, executive director of CHIPS and Catherine Tantillo, a volunteer with Diva for a Day.
Past Power Women in Business honoree and Owner of Fifth Avenue Hair Studio Nina Grullon, provided the space for and hosted the event.
