Bay Ridge boutique closing its doors at the end of the month

Longtime Third Avenue store Lola’s Boutique has announced that it will close up shop for good come the end of this month.

The Ridge-based clothing outlet at 8503 Third Avenue has specialized in high-class urban and vintage apparel and jewelry for years, making a name for itself as a one-stop-shop for the latest in high-end women’s fashion.

Owner Mariana Nuziale posted a letter addressed to her “friends and loyal customers” explaining her difficult decision to the business’ Facebook page on Monday, August 22.

“I would like to inform you that Lola’s Boutique will be closing its brick and mortar store on August 31st, 2016,” the letter begins. “We will continue to operate through a new and updated website within the next few weeks.”

In the meantime, Nuziale wrote, everything must go (and for 50 percent off).

“Lola’s attracted wonderful people from all walks of life,” she continued, attributing her “challenging” decision to a new chapter in her life during which she will create artistic bottles and candles as well as manage an online consignment shop. “Every person that walked in my store had a special significance, whether they spent $10.00 or $1,000.00. The success of Lola’s Boutique over the past 11 years has been due to our amazing customers. It was my honor to serve you all.”

Patrons were quick to offer up their support.

“Your beautiful shop and amazing windows were inspirational,” wrote Facebook user Ally Campbell in response to Nuziale’s letter. “Thanks for all the glamour and sweet scents and community support.”

“I’m speechless,” added user Chantal Raineri. “You know you will always have my support in whatever you do.”

Lola’s Boutique’s last day will be August 31.
