HBO’s “The Deuce” is back in Bay Ridge.
The HBO drama series starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal was seen filming some snowy scenes in the vicinity of 76th Street between Colonial Road and Narrows Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, using a Bay Ridge resident’s house, adorned in fake snow and a plastic snowman, as a backdrop.
“The Deuce” — slated to premiere in 2017 — spotlights the rise of the porn industry in Midtown Manhattan from the early 1970s through the mid-’80s, according to deadline.com. Franco (who, at times, also serves as the show’s director) will play two roles –twin brothers who became became mob fronts in Times Square’s lucrative sex industry, while Gyllenhaal will play the role of a prostitute.
