Upcoming Summer Stroll will attract residents to Third Avenue

The latest Summer Stroll event is quickly approaching, and it’s not one that you want to miss!

Crowds will turn out on Third Avenue between Bay Ridge Avenue and 80th Street on Friday, August 5, from 6-10 p.m. for the third of this summer’s four signature events along the thoroughfare, transforming it into a cultural hub for all to enjoy.

Sponsored by the Merchants of Third Avenue, the Summer Stroll is equivalent to a block party with fun for all members of the family. The event makes sure to highlight the “Mom and Pop” shops that have become staples of the avenue.

“Nationwide, Mom and Pop shops are the backbone of the economy. They actually provide the most jobs and these jobs can’t be replaced, though they can be enhanced, by digital devices,” said Merchants Executive Secretary Charles Otey.

For the August 5 event, the “Restaurant Row” of Brooklyn will offer a delectable selection of food, paired with live entertainment by Brooklyn-born community groups. Kid-friendly activities line the blocks, as well as book signings and shopping opportunities for parents.
