Brooklyn Bridge Park to host annual Kite Festival

Go fly a kite!

Brooklyn Bridge Park will play host to the borough’s annual Kite Festival on Saturday, September 10.

For hours, kids and adults will be able to fly colorful and unique kites as they soar above the Manhattan skyline, take photographs, as well as participate in other activities.

“We will be selling kites, have an ice cream cart on hand, and have some live music,” said Angie Chait founder and organizer of Brooklyn Kite Festival. “It’s always a great day in Brooklyn.”

In addition to buying a kite on site, attendees also have the option of bringing their own. Those participating are also encouraged to bring a camera to photograph.

The fun-filled day begins at 11 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. at the Harbor View Lawn on Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, 334 Furman Street. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.brooklynbridgepark.org.
