Man steals car for two-block joyride in Sunset Park

Cops say a car was taken for a two-block joy ride in Sunset Park over the weekend.

According to police, the car’s driver, a 30-year-old man, had parked the vehicle that belonged to his uncle, leaving the keys in the ignition while he went into a store near Fourth Avenue and 56th Street at around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 11.

From there, cops say, a man — said to be in his 30’s — ran into the vehicle and drove it two blocks before running off when the victim caught up and got into the passenger side. The perp then fled down Fourth Avenue on the east side of street.

No arrest has been made.
