Man takes bullet to the stomach in New Utrecht Avenue shooting

A 33-year-old man was taken to Maimonides Medical Center after an encounter with three unknown perps in Bensonhurst led to 10 rounds of shots fired and one bullet to the stomach over the weekend.

According to police, the three perps approached the 33-year-old near New Utrecht Avenue and Bay Ridge Parkway at around 12:35 a.m. on Saturday, September 10. One of the perps pulled out a gun and fired off approximately 10 rounds, according to cops.

While attempting to run away, the 33-year-old was hit with one bullet to the left side of his stomach.

Cops say the man’s injuries are not fatal and that the three perps were strangers to him.
