The borough’s first-ever Drink Local Week – which kicked off on October 20 and will wrap up tomorrow, October 26 – has opened the door to all sorts of local drink deals at a slew of distilleries, wineries and breweries throughout the borough.

Sponsored by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce — in conjunction with Explore Brooklyn, Taste NY, Time Out New York, Yelp and Edible Brooklyn — the event features cheap drink deals as well as other promotional offers at several neighborhood watering holes, local restaurants and retailers.

According to the Chamber, some participating locations are offering two-for-one specials on New York State-made craft beverages and others have been offering a different special on each day of Drink Local Week.

“Brooklyn’s first Drink Local Week is a great opportunity to promote the tremendous variety of the borough’s brewers,” said Brooklyn Chamber President and CEO Carlo Scissura. “The fun-filled event will be sure to both showcase our small businesses and show Brooklyn residents a good time.”

A spin on the typical “Restaurant Week,” Drink Local Week is meant to shine a spotlight on the spectrum of what local businesses have to offer.

“We make the world’s best brews right here in Brooklyn, and Drink Local Week will be our first major foray into making each of them known,” said Chamber board Chair Denise Arbesu. “By the time the week is over, we want everyone to know the inestimable value of the phrase ‘Brooklyn-Made.’”
