First-ever Drink Local Week bringing drink deals to a bar near you

For one week only, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce — in conjunction with Explore Brooklyn and Taste NY — will host the borough’s first-ever Drink Local Week, a spin on the typical Restaurant Week that, this time, will feature exclusive deals at a plethora of neighborhood watering holes as well as local restaurants and retailers.

The event — which will start October 20 and end October 26 — will include, but will not be limited to cheap drink deals and, specifically, two-for-one specials on New York State-made craft beverages at participating locations. According to the Chamber, a number of participating locations will even offer a different special on each day of Drink Local Week.

“Brooklyn’s first Drink Local Week is a great opportunity to promote the tremendous variety of the borough’s brewers,” said Brooklyn Chamber President and CEO Carlo Scissura. “The fun-filled event will be sure to both showcase our small businesses and show Brooklyn residents a good time.”

Chamber Board Chair Denise Arbesu agreed.

“We make the world’s best brews right here in Brooklyn, and Drink Local Week will be our first major foray into making each of them known,” she said. “By the time the week is over, we want everyone to know the inestimable value of the phrase ‘Brooklyn-Made.'”

Drink Local Week will also be sponsored by Time Out New York, Yelp and Edible Brooklyn.
