Hello, Dyker!
Investors Bank’s new Dyker Heights branch, 7414 13th Avenue, held a VIP Reception on Tuesday, September 27
The sizable list of attendees included employees, community leaders such as State Senator Marty Golden and Assemblymember Peter Abbate; Investors Bank COO Domenick Cama; Monsignor David Cassato of St. Athanasius Church; Senior V.P. and New York Regional Manager Ana Oliveira; CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Carlo Scissura; Fran Vella-Marrone, president of the Dyker Heights Civic Association; members of the Ben Bay Kiwanis; and more.
“There were over 120 people in attendance at the reception,” said Biagio Madaio, the bank’s senior vice president and team leader in business banking. “It was a tremendous turnout. Scissura presented us with a nice picture that will be hanging in our office. The day made us feel warm and (the community leaders’) appreciation shows that they for care for the community and we care for the leaders as well.”
Branch Manager Franco Cappitta, who hails from Dyker and who was also in attendance, said a few words to welcome everyone. “It was a very relaxed atmosphere,” Madaio added. “It was more like a meet and greet.”
“Senator Golden was glad to be part of the special opening night reception for the new Investors’ Bank on 13th Avenue and thank them for their commitment to our community,” said John Quaglione, his spokesperson. “Investors Bank has been called upon and has proven generous to so many worthwhile local charitable causes and their goodwill has been recognized. Partnerships like this in our neighborhood, with the staff and management of Investors’ Bank, is what makes our community strong.”
For Madaio, who is a longtime Brooklynite, it is exciting to see the bank’s expansion. “It’s great to see this in a community that I’ve been a part of since 1979. The people have been treating us well,” he said, adding that Brooklyn expansion has been solid. “To see how far Investors has come in five years in its size in the New York region is a tremendous accomplishment for the company, and we are happy to see that growth.”
