Police seek man who robbed and pushed 79-year-old woman in Sunset Park

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for questioning in connection with the robbery of a 79-year-old woman that occurred in Sunset Park.

On Monday, October 24 at around 6:50 a.m., the victim was walking towards 53rd Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues when an unidentified man – described by police as Hispanic with light complexion, and approximately 40 to 50 years old – approached her from behind and stole her bag, causing her to fall on the ground and hit her head. The perp fled the location and the victim was taken to NYC Lutheran Medical Center.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, dark colored jeans and sneakers.
