Hello Brooklyn.

A much-anticipated Real Estate Expo, held in Staten Island for the past 10 years, took the annual conference over the bridge this year as it was held at the Dyker Beach Golf Course on Saturday, September 15.

The 10th Annual Global Real Estate Summit, presented by the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) and co-hosted by the Brooklyn Real Estate Board, boasted a varied list of notable businesses and organizations including Douglas Elliman Real Estate; Halstead Property; New York Wheel; Sotheby’s International Realty; Toll Brothers; New York City Economic Development Corp.; New York City Department of City Planning; NYU School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate; Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; Empire State Bank; HSBC Bank USA; Lennar Urban; Turnberry Associates; Triangle Equities; Keller Williams Realty; CBRE; and others.

The day presented an opportunity for attendees to absorb information and network with real estate professionals and entrepreneurs seeking to work with foreign buyers.

“Talking about global real estate requires that we expand horizons beyond our boundaries,” said Sandy Krueger, CEO of SIBOR, citing the move over to Brooklyn as the “logical next step. We see this initiative evolving into a citywide program.”

According to SIBOR, the daylong event covered a wide range of topics and featured experts in the subjects of: Financial Issues in Global Transactions; Marketing Across Borders: The Developer Connection; Paradigm Shift: The Multi-Cultural Millennial Effect; The Renaissance of Staten Island’s North Shore and A Broker’s Perspective: Rules of International Engagement.

“The Global Summit is particularly well-timed this year, as investors throughout the world continue to weigh the effect of Brexit on world events, which is causing investors to look more than ever for safe havens,” said Claire Bisignano Chesnoff, president of SIBOR, calling the summit, “An event that shouldn’t be missed.”
