On Sunday, November 20 at around 1:40 p.m., a witness reported to police that he saw a man breaking the front, driver-side window of a car – parked near Bay 23rd Street and Bath Avenue – with a rock and stealing property from inside.
The thief, later identified as a 25-year-old man, was stopped by police near the scene a short time later and was positively identified by the witness, who also took video of the incident taking place. While conducting a routine search, cops found the 25-year-old to be in possession of a crack pipe and, later, found a credit card near where the perp was apprehended, belonging to the owner of the car he had broken into.
