An unknown person broke into a 29-year-old man’s 83rd Street apartment on Saturday, December 3 and stole thousands in cash, silver coins and a birth certificate, cops say.
According to police, the thief – who the 29-year-old believes could be his sister’s boyfriend due to an “ongoing issue” between the two – broke in at around 7 p.m. and left a bathroom window wide open in the apartment, located between 16th and 17th Avenues.
The 29-year-old also told police that the items were taken from his bedroom as well as his brother’s bedroom and that his sister has a key to the apartment. The total amount of cash taken was $2,700.
