A 23-year-old woman had her backpack stolen right off her back during an early morning robbery on 10th Avenue near 64th Street. According to police, on Wednesday, December 7 at around 1:40 a.m., the victim was walking up the front steps of her residence when an unknown perpetrator clad in a leather, suede or fur-trimmed tan coat and a red ski or watch cap, approached her from behind and grabbed the backpack with such force that he dragged her to the ground.
The perp then took off with the backpack – containing the victim’s MAC makeup bag, gold Coach wallet, credit card, passport and $350 in cash – heading northbound on 10th Avenue.
No arrests have been made though there may be surveillance video available.
