Brooklyn Nets’ Jeremy Lin celebrates Chinese New Year with fans

Brooklyn Nets point guard Jeremy Lin helped celebrate Chinese New Year by appearing at the NBA Store on Tuesday, January 24.

Although Lin has had an injury-plagued first season in Brooklyn, dedicated fans waited for hours outside the store, located at 545 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, to meet the man behind Linsanity. There, he mingled with fans, signed autographs and took photos. Additional activities also included a traditional Chinese Lion dance.

During the weekend that celebrated the Year of the Rooster, some NBA teams commemorated the holiday by donning Chinese themed jerseys along with half-time shows that highlighted Chinese traditions.

“You guys are seriously the best,” tweeted Lin following the event, shouting out one fan in particular who waited in the rain all morning to meet the star.
