Brides and grooms who want to celebrate their big day need not go to Manhattan for their bachelor and bachelorette parties. With Bay Ridge’s plethora of bars and lounges, here are some local spots that may be perfect for your big night out.
Fushimi (9316 Fourth Avenue)
With its Japanese-French fusion cuisine, trendy atmosphere and club-like lighting, Fushimi is the perfect place to start your night with dinner. The sashimi and rock shrimp tempura are customer favorites, but Fushimi isn’t just known for its food. Fushimi frequently features great happy hour and drink specials. It boasts a full bar, extensive saké selection, and specialty cocktails like the Lychee Bellini with Prosecco and lychee puree, and the Brooklyn Ginger Beer, which is made with Ketel One, ginger beer and fresh lime juice.
Lobo Loco Mexican Cantina (8530 Third Avenue)
Another dinner spot, Lobo Loco is the newest addition to Bay Ridge’s roster of Mexican restaurants. Large fajita platters and the Lobo sampler are great for sharing in large groups. It also has a wide variety of both classic and frozen margaritas in just about any flavor imaginable – our pick, the Frozen Raspberry Bulldog (with a little Coronita bottle flipped up inside of it). A DJ on Saturday nights spins a mix of Top 40 and Latin music that keeps the party going long after you’ve finished your meal.
Baia (8402 Third Avenue)
Another new entry in the growing list of Ridge nightlife is Baia, which bills itself as “an all-inclusive entertainment destination,” and it does not disappoint. As one of the few true clubs in the area, it has a sizeable dance floor and killer sound system. With live music and DJs all weekend long – there is something for everyone. The bride-to-be may want to go for her bachelorette party on Thursdays, as that is Ladies’ Night, with all drinks half-off.
Townhouse 275 (275 94th Street)
If you’re looking for an intimate and low-key night, this is the place for you. This hole-in-the-wall speakeasy is tucked on 94th Street off of Third Avenue, and specializes in handcrafted, freshly made cocktails. Often considered one of the area’s “best kept secrets,” you can watch the bartender/mixologist cut up fresh ingredients right in front of you while preparing your drink. Our faves are the Townhouse, which consists of Bulleit Bourbon, Clementine, Regan’s Orange and Amarena Cherry, and the Italian Greyhound – with Hendrick’s Gin, Campari, Cointreau, fresh grapefruit and a lemon twist.
Delia’s Lounge (9224 Third Avenue)
For over 17 years, Delia’s Lounge has been a local favorite for a friendly evening in Bay Ridge. Its candlelit atmosphere, complete with an eclectic collection of furniture and couches, makes you feel warm and cozy – and the menu of small bites and cocktails certainly helps. Delia’s cheese platter pairs well with its wide selection of wine, and its other dishes, like hangar steak skewers and fondue, are meant for sharing. As for the drinks, the vast wine list, sangria, martinis and other gin cocktails are top-notch.
