A 24-year-old Manhattan man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison and five years post-release supervision for robbing an off-duty police officer and three others at gunpoint while they sat in a parked car on July 28, 2015.
According to Acting District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, Tori Saunders pleaded guilty last month to being one of two individuals who approached the Range Rover on Linden Boulevard near Miller Avenue and taking cash, cell phones, jewelry and other items from four victims before opening fire, hitting the vehicle and Tramaine Oxley of the New York City Police Department Housing Bureau when the driver of the Range Rover attempted to leave.
Oxley was driven to Brookdale Hospital and treated for two gunshot wounds.
Saunders and the other robber fled the scene in a blue BMW, according to evidence; the investigation subsequently recovered a fingerprint that matched Saunders’; he was apprehended during a car stop in Nassau County and identified by Oxley as the assailant on July 30, 2015.
