A 25-year-old man was held at gunpoint in his apartment near the corner of 96th Street and Fourth Avenue and robbed of his car and cash, totaling nearly $56,000, after a hangout went horribly wrong on Sunday, April 2.
According to the police, at around 2 a.m., the victim met with two 22-year-old women and escorted them to his apartment. After sitting on the living room sofa, one of the women left the apartment, claiming she wanted to smoke. Surveillance video shows she left the lobby and apartment door open.
When she returned to the apartment, two men stormed in and attacked the resident, punching him in the face. One of the men told the two women to leave the apartment. After they did, both of the crooks took out handguns. After one of the men pointed the gun at the victim’s head, he told him not to look at him and asked for his money and his car keys.
After ransacking the apartment, the crooks found the keys to his car worth around $54,000 plus $1,400. They then entered the victim’s car parked in front of Saint Patrick’s Church and fled the scene.
No arrests have been made.
