Looking for an off-the-wall experience in Coney this summer?

Coney Island is about to have an off-the-wall summer.

That is because Thor Equities just launched the 2017 iteration of Coney Art Walls, an outdoor museum of street art located at 3050 Stillwell Avenue and open to the public all summer long. The project, which debuted on Saturday, May 13, will be open 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily until September. Live entertainment and local eateries will also be featured throughout the event.

The art exhibition will be curated by Jeffrey Deitch, who has been writing and curating street art since 1980.

“We’re pleased to add an outstanding group of new artists from England, Egypt, Puerto Rico, California and New York,” said Deitch.  “We are especially honored this year to have a wall mural by legendary New York artist Lee Quinones, one of the inventors of Wild Style. This year’s new murals bring us further toward the realization of creating New York City’s outdoor museum of street art.”

Among the array of local eateries available to attendees is Patacon Pisao, Chick-N-Cone, Coney Shack, Neapolitan Express and The Hop Shoppe. Live music events will be also be scattered throughout, such as the Unicorn Carnival on Saturday, July 8. The carnival will feature cross-generational music performances as well as the celebration of beauty, makeup and charity.
