Ridgewood Savings Bank “multiplies the good” with free community events

Summer is the time when calendars quickly fill up with fun things to do. Before yours is full, you might want to check the calendar of events happening at the 34 Ridgewood Savings Bank branches throughout the five boroughs and Westchester.

“Being an active part of the community means going beyond just working there,” said Leonard Stekol, president and COO of Ridgewood Savings Bank. “It means being proactive in searching for ways to be helpful.” This is why Ridgewood Savings Bank goes out of its way to host dozens of events throughout the year, including homebuyers workshops, financial literacy seminars, shred events and community appreciation days

“These free events really benefit the residents of our communities,” continued Stekol. “Learning how to manage your money, navigate the homebuying process and protect your identity are things that are important to all of us.”

At the home buyers workshops, members of the community have the opportunity to connect with experts who will answer their questions and explain the home buying process in detail.

Financial literacy seminars offer financial education and include professional advice on how to save and manage your money. Attendees discover the benefits of using bank savings and checking services in a workshop setting.

To help fight identity theft, Ridgewood has partnered with USA Shred to host shred events where participants can securely destroy their personal items at participating branch locations. No appointment is necessary, but there is a two-box limit per household.

Last, but not least, Ridgewood is proud to host community appreciation days on Saturdays throughout the year. From free shaved ices and popcorn to the bank’s popular “Wheel of Prizes,” which neighbors can spin to win, these events are fun for the whole family.
