First annual Country Fair to debut at St. Patrick’s this weekend

Head on over to St. Patrick’s, for the parish’s first Country Fair, taking place this weekend, from Friday, June 9 to Sunday, June 11.

The weekend-long festivities will kick-off with a celebration on Friday night, including an outdoor beer garden, at 9511 Fourth Avenue. A variety of local craft beers from Brooklyn Brewery, as well as wine and sangria will be served.

BrooklynOne Productions and Dorsa Group Realty will be offering a tasting of seasonal brews and beer flights, as well as sponsoring a photo booth. The event will be highlighted by live music by Hello Brooklyn, who will perform a mix of old and new hits. The 21 and older event will take place from 8-11 p.m.

A flea market and fair will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Academy’s Aldo Bruschi Auditorium as well as the grounds surrounding the church rectory. Vendors will be selling a variety of both new and used goods, as well as culinary delights for foodies, including traditional fair favorites like fresh kettle popcorn and cotton candy.

Fair Director Marilee Fitzgerald hopes the event encourages community within St. Patrick’s. “Our event on Friday night is a way to get the young adults of our church excited about being a part of our parish, and our flea market is a way to foster community among the different ministries and societies at St. Patrick’s,” Fitzgerald said.

The community that will be on hand at the flea market has certainly gone outside Bay Ridge, with vendors coming for areas like Park Slope and Downtown Brooklyn.

Fitzgerald said, “We have had a wonderful response to our flea market, with all of our tables selling out. And thanks to the help of our sponsors, this looks to be a great weekend.”
