A massive fire quickly spread through two Dyker Heights homes Monday evening, September 11.
According to officials, the blaze originated on the second floor of 1042 Bay Ridge Parkway just before 8 p.m., and moved within minutes to the second floor and attic of the adjacent house, 1044 Bay Ridge Parkway.
The response was raised from a first to a second alarm fire within just 15 minutes of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY)’s arrival.
According to the FDNY, a total of 25 units and 155 firefighters were on hand to battle the blaze, which wasn’t deemed under control until 9:17 p.m.
The blaze resulted in six minor injuries – five firefighters and one civilian.
