Cops seek straphanger who beat man on R train near 36th Street station

Authorities are seeking the punch-happy man who beat another man on a train near the 36th Street train station in Sunset Park.

According to authorities, on Friday, October 20 at around 3:45 p.m., the victim, a 30-year-old man, and the suspect were both on a southbound R train when the alleged perp stepped on the victim’s foot. When the victim confronted the other man about it, the latter punched him in the face several times. Once the victim was on the ground, the attacker kicked and punched him several times in the head and face. The perp then fled the scene once the train stopped at the 36th Street station, entering a southbound D train.

The victim was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn by EMS. He is listed in critical but stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male, white, 17-19 years old, 5’10” and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and white sneakers, and carrying a black book bag.
