Two Sunset Park T-Mobile stores targeted in chain of robberies

Two Sunset Park T-Mobile stores are part of a string of robberies allegedly pulled off by three men working together, according to the New York City Police Department. The police are asking the public for help in identifying two of the individuals; the third is already in custody.

The men allegedly entered six T-Mobile stores between November, 2017 and February, 2018, stealing 14 iPhones, an iPad and two Samsung phones overall. Each time, the men would cut the alarm wire in the display cases to steal the electronics.

From the first T-Mobile store in Sunset Park, 5517 Fifth Avenue, the men allegedly took three iPhones and an iPad on January 15. From the second store, 5019 Fifth Avenue, the men allegedly took two iPhones on February 12.

The other locations allegedly robbed by the trio are 531 Utica Avenue on November 8, 2017; 5002 Kings Highway on November 30; and 458 Fifth Avenue on January 13, 2018 and again on February 9.

The 32-year-old man in custody was charged with robbery, grand larceny, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property.
