Former Sunset Park attorney arraigned on charges of grand larceny

A former Sunset Park attorney was indicted on Monday, June 25 for allegedly stealing $150,000 from his escrow account.

According to District Attorney Eric Gonzalez’s office, 53-year-old Robert Parker of Easton, Pennsylvania has been charged with two counts of second and third-degree grand larceny as well as two counts of first-degree perjury.

According to the indictment, between 2014 and 2018, Parker, who had a law office in Sunset, is said to have stolen a down payment of approximately $98,000 in connection with a real estate transaction, on top of a settlement of $55,000 from a client before dodging multiple contact attempts.

“This defendant was entrusted to safeguard these funds, but instead allegedly stole the money and used it for his own purposes,” said Gonzalez. “We will now hold him accountable for his alleged criminal actions.”

Parker is set to return to court in September.
