Sunset Park rapist sought

Cops are searching for a man who raped a 34-year-old woman in Sunset Park.

Authorities say that on Friday, July 13 at around 1 a.m., the man, described to be in his 30s, knocked on the door to the victim’s apartment at Seventh Avenue and 52nd Street in the 72nd Precinct. When she opened the door, he forced himself inside, and brought the woman into her bedroom where he took out a gun, pointed it at her, and raped her.

Afterwards, the man stole $500 from the woman. The perp tied the woman’s arms with a sweater before fleeing the scene. Once she freed herself, she called 911.

The suspect is described by police as an Asian male in his 30s, 5’8″ with a medium build. He has tattoos on his left arm and was carrying a messenger bag.

Police say there are currently no updates.
