Security camera footage has captured the man, cops say, could be responsible for a rash of anti-Chinese graffiti which popped up over the weekend in Bensonhurst.
According to authorities, the suspect — said to be a light-skinned male — used a stencil to spray paint the offensive statement on the exterior of Green Food Supermarket, 8508 20th Avenue, at around 2:36 a.m. Saturday, August 4.
At a press conference Monday outside 2041 86th Street — another business that was tagged — officials called the attack premeditated, stressing the perpetrator’s time and attention to targeting Asian-American-owned businesses.
As many as five to six markings have been reported at or around businesses near 86th Street.
The man caught on surveillance near Green Food can be seen wearing a cap on his head, a shirt, shorts and sneakers. He was also carrying a large bag.
