Another one for the books.
The Merchants of Third Avenue celebrated its fourth and final Summer Stroll on Third of the season on Friday, August 10.
The fourth installment stretched from 80th to 90th Street and, once again, highlighted local businesses while giving Ridgeites a (quite literal) night out on the town.
“I think we had a fabulous 2018,” said Third Avenue Merchants President Bob Howe of this year’s series. “The weather was perfect.”
Despite some rainy weather this summer, all four Strolls made it through their weekly forecasts unscathed, with residents and businesses alike, Howe said, benefiting from the good fortune.
“People, as always, appreciate seeing old friends on the avenue and I think that many of the restaurants and retailers were very happy to have a little boost during what are typically quieter days of the summer,” he told this paper.
As for next year, he said, the Merchants are looking towards even “more innovative and engaging activities.”
Though there are no more Strolls on Third for 2018, there will be one more Weekend Walk in Bay Ridge – the Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District’s F.A.C.E. of Fifth, a “Family, Arts, Culinary and Entertainment” event taking place on Friday, August 17 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. starting at Fifth Avenue and 73rd Street and ending at Fifth and 83rd.
That event will include outdoor dining, an art walk, kids’ games, a silent disco and more.
