Cops seek suspect wanted for attempted rape in South Slope

Cops are looking for a black male they say attempted to rape a woman on Tuesday, July 21 within the confines of the 72nd Precinct.

According to police, a 26-year-old female was walking near Fifth Avenue and 16th Street at approximately 6:10 a.m. when the suspect, who cops say is in his early twenties, approximately 5’11” and weighing 160 pounds, grabbed her by the throat and attempted to strangle her. Once the woman started to scream, the perp fled the scene, leaving the victim with injuries to her neck.
